Crane Tower is an apartment building project that defines four streets, all with different characters. On Pennoyer, a quiet urban residential street, low scale townhouses with stoops line the street edge, looking over a landscaped walk street. The tower is barely visible above. On the opposite side of the block, Curry Street is very public and has a fountain courtyard ringed by retail. The strong building masses are clearly visible. River Parkway to the east is an upscale retail street with undulating glass display walls. The tower and lower apartment volume use form to create an interplay of shade and shadow.
